To be part of the most important milestones in people’s lives is always a blessing. What I love most about my job is that I am more often than not part of these special events that will forever be imbedded in one’s memories. I recently had the opportunity to be part of a young woman’s debutante party celebration. Her name is Pia Trinidad. From the moment I sat down with Pia I instantly liked her sunny disposition and her clear interest in fashion. She was very certain on the direction of what she wanted her debutante gown to be and I just listened and followed her lead.
What we came up with one of my favourite debutante dresses that I have designed in a long time. Pia did not want any kind of beading on her dress and insisted more on the shape and the specialness of the fabric. I was able to source out this beautiful fabric from Jacob Schlaepfer http://www.jakob-
I have had the fortune of working with Pia’s family for many years having made her uncle’s and aunt’s wedding and I can say that this family is really quite lovely and fun. The ballroom was lovingly transformed into this crystal like room with gorgeous ghost chairs and a fabulous tables cape using mirrored tables and lucite decorations which were all so elegant and very modern. Pia’s family is the one who gave us the Craving’s restaurant as well as several food establishments around the metropolis.
Coming from a family of foodies you can really expect a beautiful dinner that was a spectacle in itself. The dinner was a true success with each course more delicate and delicious then then next. The highlight for me was seeing Pia so happy and actually performing with her family and friends as she danced and sang the night away. I enjoyed being part of Pia’s universe and I am grateful for the trust and the faith!
