The restaurant landscape in the Metropolis is really getting to more complex, exciting and fun. One young star player that have been getting my foodie friends all raving about is Stockton. I have been waiting for the right moment to try Stockton and I wish I really tried it sooner. The menu is tight and compact and really easy to navigate. The service was a tad spotty as the place was really full and it was quite difficult to get the servers attention. However the server was well informed and had the correct answers to all my question.
I found the restaurant really warm and I strongly suggest that you dress lightly as the air con is really weak. I did like the interior design and appreciated the clean and graphic lines. The star though of Stockton is the food. I started with the Foie Gras salad with the peanut sauce. I am NOT A FAN of Foie. I just don’t enjoy it but everyone…each and every food blog that I read was saying that it’s a must so I did. It was delicious! We then had the sweet potato Tortelini which was a bit greasy for my taste and I found it a bit too sweet. We then moved to the main course which really perfect! It was one of the best pork belly’s that I have ever had. I loved the beautiful plating and the sauce was just so subtle. From this plate alone you could really tell the young chef’s flavour profile. Which is clean, modern and nuanced, meaning I LOVE IT!
We then ended the meal with a lemon parfait which was just beautiful! It was the best dessert to cleanse our palette and leave us singing with praise! Congratulations to Stockton and Chef Celine! BRAVO! I cannot wait to come back. I suggest you make a reservation as this probably is the hottest restaurant in town now.
