La Barra – Punta del Este!

My friends all told me that me that I have to see La Barra in Punta de Leste.  It’s one of the major strips in the island that is home to tons of restaurants, shops, galleries and bars.  We were also recommended to have dinner at this place called Baby Gouda.  http://www.babygouda.com.uy  Since Nix and I were both still not hungry we decided to walk the La Barra strip.

The car that we hired dropped us of in the main strip.

There were several home stores that caught our eye and we even found an evening flea market.  After an hour we headed back to Baby Gouda and got a nice little table.  I knew that I wanted to try out this cocktail called Clerico which was like white sangria.  I did not realize that they came in a large pitcher and not in a glass!  Nix was not having any alcohol that evening and since I did not want it to go to waste I ended up finishing the entire thing! LOL!  Let’s just say that right after that I could not remember much of La Barra.  Good thing that I have these photos to remind me of what a lovely evening we had.

The main strip of La Barra had lots of different restaurants.

They also had tons of little shops and boutiques.

We found this home store/ restaurant quite cute.

Very shabby chic.

lots of interesting pieces.

That made Nix smile.

However this was clearly not our style.

The outdoor seating. This place if I am not mistaken is called "The Hampton's".

It was very cute.

Old world Americana.

The we found an evening flea market.

It was really thrilling to go to places like these as you never know what you will un earth.

We then proceeded to our restaurant Baby Gouda which was quite busy.

Baby Gouda's bar area.

This is where we sat.

I like how relaxed the entire restaurant was.

The interiors of Baby Gouda.

This is Clerico! It's like the national cocktail of Punta de Leste. It's really refreshing.

Dinner was my favourite baby squid!

Nix had some Moroccan tea and a giant chocolate ganache!

The outside bar.

it's amazing that I was able to take more photos after finishing an entire pitcher of Clerico! LOL!

Our drive back.

Good night Punta de Leste!

HUGS,

RAJO!
