SALTA, Argentina!

From the South most point of Argentina, Nix and I  flew to Salta.  Located at the North of Argentina is this beautiful city that actually reminded me on Manila!  It is already very close to Bolivia and yo already notice the change immediately.  From the way the people speak, it was slower and far easier to understand.  The pace of life here is also much more tranquil and relaxed.  We were picked up by our really cool guide and was immediately taken around town.

Airport views in El Calafate! So sad to leave such a beautiful place.

I noticed that the colors here are more intense and the people have a lovely bronzed colouring.  The city planning  is very familiar as it is like our towns in The Philippines.  The churches are at the centre, right beside the government buildings and in the middle of all of this is the town plaza where people would converge.

Good bye amazing skies!

The view outside my plane ride.

Landing in Salta.

This is how Salta looks like. Does it not remind you of Old Manila?

Our lovely guide! Does she not look like a Filipina?

Old and new collide.

The Salta Cathedral! IN PINK!

The masonic eye!

The beautiful interiors. Said a prayer of thanks and got to make 3 wishes. Did you know you can do this? You get 3 wishes each time you go into a church for the very first time.

I heard that some of the artisans that made these were actually Filipino's.

Mosaic art.

Surrounding the plaza.

Local snacks. Those think sandwiches were yummy.

The green centre of the city.

Fountains and fun abound.

European/Parisian style buildings.

At the government offices.

It also reminded me of Mexico.

This church was awesome!

I have never seen a pregnant image of the Blessed Virgin. This was a good sign.

Aztec and Catholic images combine.

GAUCHO style!

NIx in front of a monastery. We loved the door.

Salta views.

Checked in the Sheraton.

Our room views.

Wish we had time to try the pool.

Look they also had these popcorn stalls. LOL! Missing home.

The plaza at night.

The pink cathedral.

Spotted this building which was turned into a cultural centre.

Outside views.

It was a lovely art deco building.

Interiors.

Very French.

Love Salta too! Especially the empanadas. The museum with those mummified Inca kids was quite spooky for me (it was a Halloween when I was there).
Did you guys try the Tren de las Nubes?

Thank you for all the comments! I appreciate it so much. I believe that we all should aspire to make our beloved Manila as clean and as beautiful as we possible can. We all have to do our part. Each small gesture when done by everyone will lead to great things. The camera I use is a CanonS95.

  5. Love this city! Will follow your footsteps. How do I get the email address of Ambassador Rey, our cousin? JoJo
