Were only in February and already experienced one of my personal ”event” highlights. You all very well know that I love art! It’s something that I have loved since I was a little child. I also love Museums in fact my dream is to actually live in one! LOL!
A few days ago was the Met Gala! It was one of the most exciting events that I have ever experienced in our town for a very long time. Perhaps because I am deeply involved and in love with the cultivation of our artists via my association with the Asian Cultural Council of The Philippines. Where I sit on the board. Perhaps it was the energy of the crowd which fused all age gaps having fun in one room? Maybe it was the good vibrations that was emanating from everyone who came helping a museum like the Metropolitan Museum get a major face lift and find a home for some of the most beautiful contemporary art that our country has produced? I think it was all of the above!

Say hi to my personal fashion heroes! Tina, Pepito, Ian and Inno! Happy that they were all there to support art.
To be able to witness such an event was really a blessing. The evening started with cocktails and a chance for me to see the artworks on the second level. Soon after that dinner was announced and we all were led to the first level. There were 3 long tables in the main hall with works of Leeroy New looking like alien flowers and plants.

This looks like an Ang Kiu Kok to me? However I maybe mistaken. There was so much to see and I had so little time to appreciate everything.
The dinner was prepared by one of my favourite restaurants Kai and it was perfectly executed. I particularly loved the salad that started the meal as it was so refreshing and felt super healthy. Soon several courses followed after and each plate was so beautiful. The dessert plate was extremely fun as it was pop art personified. As we were enjoying the dessert the lights dimmed that the works of Leeroy glowed in the dark, then a parade of dancers/models came out all wearing Leeroy New’s costumes and work. I loved the spirit of play and fun in the entire production and it was so joyous to see everyone participate. The dinner than morphed into an after party where there were more drinks being served and the super chic Katrina Razon was playing her tracks for everyone to enjoy!

So happy that our friends from ACC New York was able to join us. Here they are with Anton Barretto, Tess Rances and I . That is Lauren and Miho.

This is my friend Andy Vasquez- Prada he just lost 114 lbs! I am so proud and a jealous of his accomplishment! Bravo Andy! Thank you for inspiring me.

So happy to bump into one of the coolest gals I know! Katrina Razon not only has killer style but her tracks as a DJ is major! Here I am trying very hard to do my Gardo look! LOL!
It was one of those amazing evening that just made everyone feel happy. I loved that night because everyone was united into one singular goal to uplift art in the Philippines and that for me is definitely worth celebrating!
HUGS,
RAJO!
