I have always dreamed of visiting Patagonia! The mere name conjures images of solace and peace. Imagine just you and the most amazing views of nature. Our gang slimmed down to 3 as the rest of the crew had to go back to their respective countries. It was just Robby, Nix and I that were able to experience the beauty of Calafate.

Our trip was a bit delayed but we eventually got to our destination and all the anxiety disappeared as we approached our destination. The views outside the airline were already making me happy and the moment we landed we there was this spirit of awe and serenity that greeted me. It was several degrees cooler than Buenos Aires. This being the summer season it was actually perfect. What greeted us was the bluest skies I have ever seen and the air was so clean that as I inhaled you could feel your body detoxifying.

We dropped our bags in our hotel and we immediately too a quick hike to see some pink flamingos It was the perfect introduction to Patagonia! Lush green vista’s punctuated by the endless blue skies! This in many ways was a dream destination fulfilled.

ahh! you guys went to El Calafate’s Laguna Nimez where the pink flamingos are! I went there on a bike and strolled later to see other bird species. If you couldn’t get any closer to them, I’d say you need to bring a longer zoom lens next time.

Thank you for the comment! I only had my trusty point and shoot Canon S95 which is pretty amazing. I did not bring my SLR anymore as it was too bulky and we would be doing a lot of travelling. I am happy that you were able to go biking there. I am sure it was fun!
